From New York Times bestselling author, Penelope Ward, comes a sexy, STANDALONE second-chance romance.
They called him Mack Daddy. No, seriously, his name was Mack. Short for Mackenzie. Thus, the nickname. Perfect, right?
So was he: perfect. The perfect physical male specimen.
At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women.
Everyone wanted a piece of the hot single father of the sweet little boy.
I was riddled with jealousy, because they didn’t know that—to me—he was much more.
They didn’t know about our past.
He’d chosen my school for his son on purpose, because Mack and I, we had unfinished business.
As my friend Lorelai so eloquently put it: “Unfinished business between two people who are clearly attracted to each other is like an eternal case of blue balls.” And I was suffering in pain from my case.
I was still intensely attracted to Mack. I tried to resist him, immersing myself further into a relationship with another man just to protect my heart.
Not to mention, getting involved with a parent was strictly against school rules. But seeing Mack day in and day out was breaking me down.
And soon I might be breaking all the rules.
Author’s note – Told in alternating points of view, Mack Daddy is a full-length standalone novel.

4 out of 5 ‘Let’s try this again’ Stars
Mack Daddy was a second chance love story done right. The why the four stars? Well those are because there were things about the book that I didn’t like but that’s all personal preference and opinion.
So, let me just get this out of the way…..I’ve been having a difficult time with blurbs lately. I really feel a little cheated because they really lead you to belief one thing about the book when in turn is actually something different. In the case of Mack Daddy, it wasn’t too far off the mark. And yes I know that that’s the point of the blurb- to reel us curious readers in but I don’t appreciate a total turn of events. Again not the case totally in Mack Daddy but I still felt some type of way about it. The second thing that I didn’t like about Mack Daddy was the back forth of present and past. Now again this is just personal preference and I know you needed the history in order to understand the present but it’s just not my cup of tea when books are written this way.
The story of Mack and Frankie was so…….real. I absolutely loved that about them. Geez, who hasn’t lusted over someone you couldn’t have. I mean, I have a totally unhealthy obsession with all things Chris Hemsworth but you can’t stop me. You can’t!! Oh, the book. Yeah. Forget you read that part. Anyway, I really loved that Mack’s descent into full fledge love was gradual and not at all physical attraction from the beginning. There are so many instances or books where the story starts off physical and then moves over into the mental connection. I loved loved loved that Mack Daddy was the total opposite.
Another thing that I loved about Mack? He was a man on a mission. No pit stops along the way (aka other women). His eyes were solely focused on Frankie and only Frankie. Of course there were some potholes along the way- I mean, c’mon, nothing worth having comes easily.
Annnnnnnd Frankie. I loved that she was a super awkward young woman that grew into herself as an adult woman. She was confident but not overly so and her honest approach to life in general was very refreshing in a female lead character. Mix together a super delicious Mack and beautifully honest Frankie and you get one amazing tale. With a few curve balls along the way, just to keep you on your toes, anyone will enjoy this great read. I thoroughly enjoyed this ‘let’s try this again’ romance.
